- ESL 1 - English As a Second Language I
- Provides intensive instruction at the beginning level. Includes listening comprehension, pronunciation and oral production of basic grammatical structure; reading and vocabulary development; and introduction to the writing process.Variable hours per week.
9-20 credits - ESL 24 - Oral and Written Communications I
- Provides practice in the sound, stress, intonation, structural patterns, grammar, vocabulary, and idioms of beginning-level English. Prerequisite: Requires ability to understand short spoken passages as well as familiarity with basic grammatical structure.Lecture 3-6 hours per week.
