General Course Purpose
The purpose of this course is to prepare the student in the theory and application of the following: medical incident management, multiple and mass casualty incident management, aeromedical operations, rescue awareness and operations, hazardous materials incident awareness, violent, active shooter and crime scene awareness and traffic incident management and to provide emergency medical services providers with a foundational and operational knowledge of the roles and responsibilities to ensure patient, public, and personnel safety. This course develops an awareness of principles, techniques and procedures necessary to safely and effectively manage an emergency scene. This course is required for students desiring to test for National Registry Paramedic certification.
