- Supervises in on-the-job training for pay in approved business, industrial and service firms, coordinated by the college's cooperative education office. - Requires completion of a project or research report related to the student's occupational objectives and a study of approaches to the selection and pursuit of career opportunities in the field.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.

- Assigns problems for independent study incorporating previous instruction and supervised by the instructor.May be repeated for credit. Variable hours.
1-5 credits - AUB 102 - Basic Non-Structural Repair
- Examines basic non-structural repair techniques using current industry standards. Covers metal repair, use of body filler, trim and hardware removal, and plastic and composite repair. Prepares students for the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) ProLevel 1 Platinum certification in Non-Structural Repair.Lecture 3 hours, Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 103 - Basic Refinishing
- Examines basic refinishing techniques using current industry standards. Covers preparation, masking, sanding, spraying, and basecoat/clearcoat applications. Prepares students to receive Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) ProLevel 1 Platinum certification in Refinishing.Lecture 3 hours, Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 106 - Basic Sheet Metal Operations
- Teaches the use of metal straightening tools, basic straightening operations, shrinking, filling, sheet metal damage and repair procedures.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 111 - Automobile Body Theory and Shop Practices I
- Teaches and applies the fundamentals and use of body tools and materials. Emphasizes shop safety, metal working, welding, cooling systems. Teaches bodies and frames design and construction, wheel suspensions, steering systems, wheel alignment and balancing, shock absorbers, glass, hardware and upholstery. Part I of II.Lecture 5 hours. Laboratory 9 hours. Total 14 hours per week.
8 credits - AUB 112 - Automobile Body Theory and Shop Practices II
- Teaches and applies the fundamentals and use of body tools and materials. Emphasizes shop safety, metal working, welding, cooling systems. Teaches bodies and frames design and construction, wheel suspensions, steering systems, wheel alignment and balancing, shock absorbers, glass, hardware and upholstery. Part II of II.Lecture 5 hours. Laboratory 9 hours. Total 14 hours per week.
8 credits - AUB 115 - Damage Repair Estimating
- Teaches inspection and estimation of cost to repair collision damage. Emphasizes writing acceptable estimates for insurance companies. Studies practices used by repair shops and insurance adjusters.Lecture 1 hour. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 4 hours per week.
2 credits - AUB 116 - Auto Body Repair
- Teaches collision straightening procedures and use of equipment, planning repair procedures, disassembly techniques, body fastening systems, glass removal and replacement and panel repair and alignment. Lecture 3 hours.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 118 - Automotive Paint Preparation
- Teaches auto body preparation for painting, using the materials, processes, and equipment required to prepare metal and old finishes. Includes sanding, cleaning, solvents, special materials, fillers and primers.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 119 - Automotive Painting
- Teaches theory and application of painting and the use of painting equipment and materials including paints, thinners, primers, rubbing compounds and cleaners.Lecture 3 hours.Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 125 - Auto Body Welding
- Presents the principles involved in using heat to relieve stress in shrinking metal as well as the processes used in joining high and low strength steels. Includes oxyacetylene welding, cutting, brazing, and soldering, resistance spot welding, and MIG welding.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 127 - Introduction to Collision Repair Technology
- Introduces shop practices for auto body laboratory and shop safety, identification and use of hand tools, general power equipment and maintenance of auto body shop. Explains basic operation procedures, careers, terminology, estimating, and cycle time principles. Presents Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) standards and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations pertaining to the collision repair field. Student will complete the Inter Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) modules related to the major course topics.Credit 3. Lecture 2 hours. Lab 2 hours. Total 4 hours per week.

Prepares students for the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) ProLevel 2 Platinum certification in Non-Structural Repair.Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
4 credits - AUB 203 - Advanced Refinishing
- Examines advanced refinishing techniques using current industry standards. Covers application of color theory, mixing, tinting and blending, and three-stage refinishing. Prepares students for the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) ProLevel 2 Platinum certification in Refinishing.Lecture 3 hours, Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
