General Course Purpose

FRE 101 students will start to develop competence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing (including handwriting) in the standard target language while gaining an awareness of the culture, heritage, and civic values of the cultures studied.

Course Prerequisites/Corequisites

Prerequisite: FRE 101, or two years of successful completion of high school French, or demonstrated experiential learning, or by placement test, or equivalent.

The purpose of this course is to introduce intermediate-to-advanced French language students to a basic background for understanding unique features of French literature and focus on the development of methods for critical analysis and discussion while continuing to develop fluency skills in French. This course is taught in the target language.
