CHM 101 - Introductory Chemistry
Explores the experimental and theoretical concepts of general chemistry while emphasizing scientific reasoning, critical and analytical thinking. Designed for the non-science major. This is a Passport and UCGS transfer course.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.

This course is part of a project called Follett ACCESS. The cost for the course materials for this class is $111.56. The electronic course materials will be available to students in Canvas when the course begins. Students will be billed for tuition, fees, and required course materials.
Students must also register for CHM 101-V01L
This course meets entirely online with no scheduled meeting times. Students may have to purchase physical and/or electronic books and/or other course materials. Students may be required to take at least one proctored assessment. Faculty will inform students of the proctored assessment requirements in the syllabus and class notes. Instructors may require a webcam and microphone for audio and video capabilities. Asynchronous classes may require a proctored exam from the Testing Center or another location. Students may be able to choose an optional remote proctoring service which requires a student fee.
This class has four tests and a final exam. All tests must be taken at the BRCC Testing Center (or other faculty approved testing center) or through the remote proctoring service, Examity. Examity provides live proctoring through the use of a webcam and microphone. Students are responsible for paying for Examity?s live proctoring service with a credit card at the time of scheduling. The cost of using Examity is $12- $18 depending on the length of the test/exam.
