MUS 243 - Advanced Applied Music Composition
Teaches the advanced study of music composition and includes instruction using twentieth and twenty-first century compositional techniques. Studies complex compositional devices including advanced harmony, rhythm, texture, and orchestration.

This section is a 2 credit class. Applied classes are private lessons held once a week (One hour for this 2-credit class). Please email Ms. Kerrigan Sullivan at ksullivan@jtcc.edu and cc Mr. David Guthrie at dguthrie@jtcc.edu, for scheduling information concerning this class. All courses in applied music may be repeated for a total of 8 hours for the major and 4 hours for the minor. One half hour lesson per week. Four to eight hours practice required. This course requires an additional out-of-pocket Lab fee of $750.
This course may require attendance and participation in "performance classes" which will meet outside of your regular lesson time. Dates and times for these classes: TBA. Your instructor will provide additional details regarding the performance classes at the beginning of the semester.
