NSG 100 - Introduction to Nursing Concepts
Introduces concepts of nursing practice and conceptual learning. Focuses on basic nursing concepts with an emphasis on safe nursing practice and the development of the nursing process. Provides supervised learning experiences in college nursing laboratories, clinical/community settings, and/or simulated environments.
Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours. Total 6 hours per week.
Prerequisites: BIO 141 or BIO 231

NSG 100 follows a hybrid teaching methodology whereby the course content is delivered both in-person/in-class (face-to-face), as well as via asynchronous distance education (online). The course is divided into two components: didactic (lecture), and clinical. The didactic portion of the course will be delivered via weekly pre-recorded lectures and face-to face class periods. Clinical instruction will take place in a clinical setting and simulated environment. Clinical instruction will begin the 3rd week of the semester.
